Anonymous asked: Everyone says things will get better, and I know they will, but what am I supposed to in Between points A and B? They never tell you how to survive and stay sane until the good comes, and I don't know how to cope with the loses and thoughts and memories.
Well… I’m not the greatest with advice I don’t think, but in my opinion, the most important thing is to have hope for point B and look towards it. If you can keep it in your sights, I think it makes it easier to get to. It lightens the hard road towards it. Seriously, as cliche as it sounds, being positive makes all the difference. Positivity radiates into everything.
But also in the meantime, you can’t just sit back and wait for things to get better. You have to take steps to get to point B, or point B will never come. I don’t know what you are going through or who you are and your mindset, so I can’t really tell you exactly what steps to take, especially since those kinds of things are different for everyone, but one thing that really helps is appreciating the little things and joys.
Also, recognizing what you’re feeling and why you’re feeling that way and acknowledging that is is OKAY to feel that way for a while as long as you don’t dwell in that negative feeling. Realize how you don’t have to feel that way anymore. I think acknowledging your feelings is the first step in moving past them and onto better things. The same goes for memories. Allow yourself to look back on those memories, recognizing those times and why they had to happen and how you felt then. Realizing that was for a time and for a purpose and now it is time for something new with a whole new purpose.
As for the thoughts: take them captive. When a negative thought enters your mind, pinpoint it and dispose of it, or turn it into something good. If that makes sense?
Lastly, there will always be losses. There couldn’t be wins without losses. Triumphs and victories would mean nothing without defeat. We need a little bad to see how much all of the good means.
I know that was SUPER long, but I just had a lot of thoughts for some reason and they kept rambling out. I hope this helps! If you want come off of anon and we can talk more personally and maybe I can better help you.
